It took some getting used to the new set up with the ring but have to say I actually preferred it to the old one. Also good to see a healthier crowd in attendance and after tonight I can see every one of them wanting to come back and bring their friends.

Wolfdogg is joined in the ring by Damon Matthews who pulls out his own name to face himself in The Enigma Lottery! He then draws again and comes up with VooDoo’s name, who was drawn to face Steve Valek, Mimic and Fuzion in a Four Way. Joe withdraws VooDoo from that match so he can concentrate on the Main Event. I liked that VooDoo said nothing during this whole interaction, just stood on the entrance way staring at Matthews. The suspense and mystery goes with the character.

“Giant” Dregan Grimm v Jesse Pandora

Um, what? Can’t say I’m sold on the name. Why change from Dregan? Dregan gets things under way by raking the eyes of the original Emo. He over powers his smaller opponent early until he attempts a running clothes line but misses and Jesse tries a roll up with no success. Dregan returns the favour with a big boot and side walk slam followed by the Nash boot to the throat. Stomps to the chest are followed by a running clothesline and raking the eyes over the top rope. This brings a “Dregan Sucks” chant and some heat from the crowd. Taking no notice, he then chokes Jesse using his waist band but is taken to the floor when Jesse pulls down the ropes when charged. Dregan hits a couple of chops and now they are both on the apron with Jesse able to whip Dregan into the ring post and back onto the floor. Dregan attempts to return to the ring but is hit with a baseball slide and then a moonsault from the apron to the floor. Jesse takes over control of the match as he hits the Eddie Guerrero sling shot return from the apron to the ring and follows up with a DDT and leg drop from the top rope. A reversal is attempted off the ropes by Dregan with both men missing their mark and attempting to cover the mistake, which they do well. Off a second reversal from the ropes, Jess kicks Dregan in the lower leg to bring him to his knees and then comes over with a running body press. Dregan is able to reverse out of a spinning DDT attempt and works on Jesse’s shoulder. From there he is easily able to put Jesse on his shoulders and hit the cut throat, which oddly gets a pop from the crowd! The now trademark curb stomp later and Dregan gets the pin to a mix of boos and cheers. Good match but would have liked to see more aerial offence from Jesse and still not sure how Dregan is going to stop getting the pops from the crowd. I guess the anti-hero is still loved in many circles. I have one idea but if I explain it here then it would not work……….

Savannah Summers v Sara Jay

Sara starts us off with a couple of shoulder blocks, a cross body and old school camel clutch. She then puts Savannah’s head to the turnbuckles before her opponent is able to come back with a reverse face plant and Nash boot to the throat. (Dregan may have the longer legs but I know whose look better!) Sara fights back with a head scissors that takes Savannah to the floor and then she comes off the apron with an ax handle. Whilst on the floor Sara rakes Savannah’s eyes over the barriers but that just infuriates her local opponent who whips her into the ring post and slams Sara on the hard floor. Both ladies are back in the ring and Savannah hits a backbreaker and then Texas cloverleaf on that injured back. She has total control of the match as she hits the Val Venis’ knees off the ropes and suplexes Sara then puts her in a dragon sleeper hold. A chop and then two back body drops are next but in desperation Sara attempts a crucifix, which only brings a two count. The break in momentum allows Sara to come back with a drop toe old and neck breaker of her own. She whips Savannah around by her hair and is hit with an inside cradle that brings another two count. Sara hits two big forearms but Savannah is trying everything to win this match and has two more close counts off roll up attempts off the ropes. Then, with one final attempt, she tries a small package and gets the pin! What was a good match was totally ruined by a bad count from the referee who had the whole crowd confused as to if it was two or three. Again, I’m no expert and have never said I am but the referee should be fully aware of when a match is going to end and there should never be an excuse for what happened here and again later in the night. It spoiled the ending but should not take away from a good effort from both ladies. For me, I’d like to see some character development with the female workers. The guys seem to get storyline development with the women pushed to the side but if we’re to care what they are doing and see them as more than just two beautiful women, we need to care about their characters. Just my thoughts.

Dienamic v Southern Pitbull

I had been looking forward to this match and boy did it live up to my expectations! Dienamic attacked Pitbull as he made his way to the ring and that set the tone for the rest of this brutal, stiff and intense match. Dienamic beats Pitbull down and then places his head on the apron, using it as a target as he comes off the top rope with a vicious kick. Pitbull catches Dienamic coming off the top rope and throws him to the outside where he uses the barriers as a ramming device. Both men are then on the apron and Pitbull hits the masked one with a Death Valley Driver on the apron!!! Look up “HOLY SHIT” in the Oxford Dictionary and you’ll see a picture of that move! “RCW” chants broke out but man that deserved so much more! Both men then kick the living snot out of each other to further emphasise how stiff this match is turning out to be, with action out the ring, more than in. Dienamic reverses Pitbull into the ring steps and then hits a Taipei moonsault to the floor. He then uses the hard surface out the ring as a backing to a double stomp on his opponent. Back in the ring and Pitbull hits a low blow and power slams Dienamic who takes offence to this and kicks him in the head! These guys are leaving nothing out the back! Pitbull comes back with a power bomb and chop before being hit with a clothesline and then gets choked on the bottom rope. Dienamic hits a snap mere and then a barrage of stiff kicks to Pitbull’s back. Pitbull is now bleeding from the mouth but it doesn’t slow anyone down. Dienamic hits a wicked double stomp to Pitbull’s face but Pitbull hits a clothesline that drops his opponent on his head! Dienamic is able to reverse into a DDT and then hits a double stomp to the chest from the top rope. Not content with his work, he then proceeds to attack Katey Kollision, which enrages the already rabid Pitbull and soon both men are fighting through the crowd, where Dienamic whips Pitbulll through about four rows of chairs, endangering the scattering fans.  When he starts throwing the chairs at Pitbull security has seen enough and they tackle him to the ground and remove him from the building!!! Double count out – no winner. I need to take a break! Others may disagree but I’m giving this Match of the Night. It was non-stop carnage that was played out with such real passion and intensity that I bought it, hook, line and sinker. It wasn’t pretty but it had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and left me wanting more so I hope that we get it! This rivalry deserves at least two more matches with a huge blow off one that would deserve Main Event status.

Furious Freddy Fuzion v Mimic v Steve Valek

Valek gets on the microphone to a chorus of “Kick a Vic” and announces that unless he wins tonight, he will never wrestle in RCW again. Great promo from Valek which also brought a “Give Him a Tissue” chant. “Wax Your Back” soon follows for Freddy but then Valek bags the SnakePit Title, something I did not agree with and spoiled the whole promo for me. Freddy and Valek decide to work together early on and after putting Mimic down, Valek whips Freddy into the former SnakePit Champion. Valek backs that up with a delayed suplex but Freddy breaks the three count and the alliance is over as they attack each other! Valek slams Fuzion but is then hit with a leg lariat from Mimic and Fuzion throws him out the ring. Mimic takes the opportunity to chop Fuzion and his unknowingly helped from the outside as Valek trips up Fuzion. Mimic hits a leg drop and then Valek attacks Fuzion as well. Mimic slams Valek and follows with the power elbow. This allows Fuzion to recover and he hits the spinebuster on Mimic, which Arn Anderson would be proud to call his own. Valek is back in and he hits a clothesline on Fuzion and underhook DDT but Mimic breaks the count. Mimic chops Valek and then whips him into the corner for the Miz clothesline. He follows up with a spring board clothesline that sends Valek to the floor. A pattern is forming as it usually does with three ways – when two guys are working on each other, the third is allowed time to recover. Fuzion hangs Mimic over the second rope and Valek holds him in place so that the SnakePit champion can drop down on his back and throat with all his momentum and weight. Fuzion then hits an implant DDT and suplex, followed by a drop toe hold that allows Valek to execute a leg drop. Just when you thought the partnership was back on, Valek clotheslines Fuzion and I notice the crowd is a bit dead but not sure why. A good match is in progress but maybe they are lost on where this is heading or just exhausted from the previous encounter. Mimic hits a lionsault on Valek and then a pump handle into a cradle driver, where the referee stuffs up another count! This time it was meant to be two but he made it look like three and once again the crowd is confused. Fuzion brings then SnakePit title into the ring but Valek turns a neckbreaker into a clothesline on the belt. Mimic hits a double underhook death driver but is then knocked off the top rope when he’s about to hit the 450. Mimic is thrown to the floor where he is attacked by Dregan and takes a wicked looking shot to the ring post. Valek is arguing with the referee – who blames him! – and this allows Fuzion to hit a low blow and then Cold Fuzion for the three count. Good, solid three way match. Nice to see that Fuzion did bring out the belt as he rightly should and for the still evolving storyline between Dregan and Mimic. I hope they save those two for their own Main Event as I don’t want them to get lost during other feuds.

Just Josh v Adam Gambino

I was disappointed with this match. It was a good match but just way too short for me. There were so many things these two could do without actually having to wrestle that would have extended its life and helped to put Adam over even more. God knows Josh doesn’t need to be any more over!! “Adam Sucks” welcomes the Victorian to the ring, who starts a nice promo only to cut it short with what was a beautiful comeback to the crowd but not so good with so many children in the audience. He covered it well and from the amount of laughter I don’t feel too many parents were offended. I loved it! The match starts off with two shoulder blocks from Adam, using his obvious superior size and strength. Josh uses his speed and gets him numerous kicks before putting Adam in the corner and climbing the ropes for punches to the count of ten. Adam hits him with a hard kick and then slam but his attempt at a pin using only his knee, brings a two count. “You ate all the pies” rings out Adam hits a DDT (ouch) and then power bomb. Josh is able to reverse into a hurricarana that sends Adam to the floor, where he is met with a cross body from the top rope. Adam chops Josh but is then hit with a hip and shoulder that puts Adam into the barriers. Some kicks later and we’re back in the ring with a spring board drop kick from Josh but he’s then hit as he attempts to come off the top rope again.
Adam then sets up and executes the Goldust low blow, which bends Josh over and gives Adam a target to hit with blows to the chest and back. Josh tries to fight back but is hit with a power bomb. Fuzion walks down the entrance way that distracts Josh and allows Adam to hit a German Suplex for the pin. As I said, I enjoyed the match but why bring someone over from interstate to work such a short match. Treating Josh with utter disdain and contempt would have drawn huge heat from the crowd and made Adam’s place for the future.

VooDoo v Damon Matthews
RCW Title

Things didn’t look promising when Damon slipped three times during his entrance but that was not a sign of things to come. Damon hits an arm bar which is reversed by VooDoo. He then executes another arm bar but this time turns it into an arm drag. Damon again has the arm bar in place but its reversed by VooDoo off the ropes and into an arm drag of his own. Damon hits a shoulder block but VooDoo comes back with a nice Japanese arm drag. This ticks off the champion who slaps the challenger in the face but then takes some knee lifts to his stomach. (Can I just say, please don’t do your knee lifts like that again. EVER. Watch the footage and you will know what I mean!) VooDoo then hits a neckbreaker and senton but Damon comes back with the classic heel low blow. He hits two suplexes but turns the second one into an elbow drop and follows that with a nice Judo move – leg sweep and clothesline takedown. Next are some stiff forearms and a running double drop kick, with some chops for good measure. VooDoo is then able to reverse into a sunset flip off the ropes for a two count as the pace gains momentum and the crowd rides along with it. VooDoo places Damon on the top rope and hits a spinning neckbreaker into a DDT! Damon retreats to the floor to avoid further punishment but VooDoo pursues him and soon they are running around the ring where Damon attempts to use his cane but now they are fighting out into the crowd. VooDoo whips Damon into the barriers and then executes a running senton from the ring to the crowd area for this match’s first “HOLY SHIT” moment! Damon has control again and hangs VooDoo over the apron to hit a drop kick from the floor and over the barriers! He follows that up with a missile drop kick from the top rope and a superplex that only brings a two count. VooDoo fights back and both men climb the ropes, where VooDoo sets up for a Canadian Destroyer from the second rope! “HOLY SHIT” #2! We thought he had killed the champion!! He’s now on a roll as he hits a flying clothesline and then a split leg moonsault from the top rope. The crowd thinks an upset is in the air as VooDoo connects with the Whisper in the Wind but only gets a two count. The crowd is now red hot. Damon drags the referee in the way as VooDoo comes flying in and now he’s down. VooDoo then hits Damon with another Canadian Destroyer that plants his head into the ring mat for so long I thought he was a tree! “HOLY SHIT” #3. Both men are exhausted and Damon recovers first, hitting a spinebuster and some stiff forearms but his attempt at the Vertebreaker are denied as his VooDoo’s attempt at a third Canadian Destroyer. Running out of options VooDoo attempts a spring board back elbow but is hit with a super kick to the back of the head and Damon gets the three count. Apart from the ending, which I didn’t like, this could have been MOTN. Stuff it – I’ll give it a tie with Dienamic v Pitbull. If I’m doing that, I’m also saying that the Death Valley Driver on the apron ties with the second Canadian Destroyer for Move of the Night.

Here we were thinking the night was over………….

Damon gets some electrical tape and after forcing the referee to the back, he tapes VooDoo’s arms to the top rope. This can’t be good……..it’s not. VooDoo then takes five, yes five, Singapore Cane shots to the back!! “HOLY F#CK”. It was like a car crash. You don’t want to look but you can’t help yourself. I am sure photos of his back will be posted everywhere and believe me; they are not for the squeamish. Josh comes out but realises he’s no match and goes to the back to bring out the other faces but the heels soon join them in the ring and we have full on anarchy as every RCW wrestler is the ring, attacking each other. The heels are able to clear the ring and whilst the faces attempt to enter to help their fallen comrade, they are continually beaten back down. Dregan then kicks the still taped up VooDoo in the back of the head! Joe has seen and had enough – he grabs the microphone and warns them that if anyone else touches VooDoo, Damon will be stripped of the RCW Title. This doesn’t seem to bother anyone but the champion, still he manages to keep them all away. Joe then announces the Main Event for the next show – VooDoo v Damon Matthews – RCW Title – No Disqualification.

What a bloody awesome way to end what was a bloody awesome night! Strong card across the board with some obvious stands outs and the crowd left happy and in a frenzy! Nice to see RCW shows back to the way they were earlier this year – innovative and exciting. I’m already counting down the sleeps until November 3rd!!!!

BRING IT ON!!
