Well this is my first time ever doing a review of a wrestling show, and let me say straight off its so much more difficult than I ever realised.  The quick notes and making sure I don't miss the any of the action.  So don't judge me too harshly on my first go.

I made the trip out to Minlaton to see the snakepit show.  Approximately 60 - 70 people attended the show.  Nice small hall, was or still is the local cinema.

Wolfdogg and Luke Hazard were the rovering commentators and Luscious Lola was special guest referee.

 

Number 1 contender for Snake Pit Gold.
Just Josh V Dragonspawn

This match didn't even really get started before Fuzion decided to make his presence felt.  Fuzion scoped out to 2 combatants in the ring, and then proceeded to take both guys out with title shots to their head.  Fuzion wasn't satisfied enough with this and got on the Mic and bagged the 2 saying they're not worthy of have a shot at the Gold.
Since Lola called a No Contest, Wolfdogg as temporary manager declared that since we didn't have a winner for number 1 contender, that they were both number 1 contenders and turned the main event into a triple threat.

Ace Wilson V Ice Man Miller

Both the Ice Men appeared and I first thought that IM Morris was there for moral support, but I was wrong, I will explain in a moment.
Ace Wilson came out as the good guy and the crowd decided they didn't like the Ice Men.  Ace seemed to like playing the face character.
The match got under way and the 2 Ice men swtiched.  I know Lola saw it, and Luke advises that the Ice Men can switch any time they like.  Interesting twist.
A few highlights of the match were Ace Wilson's Irish Whipped Ice Man Miller hard into the corner and then followed it up with a thunderous clothesline for downtown.  Ice Man was ravaged by this and fell into the corner, and Ace followed it up with a low drop kick right onto Ice Man's face.
There was a few switches from the Ice Men and I got confused and wasn't sure who was who. 
Ace got Ice Man Morris I think it was with a snapmere and a striking kick to his back. Ouch! The locals would have heard that one down the main st.  Around this point the crowd "especially the boys" across the other side near the commentator's table were chanting "Ace, Ace, Ace"
At the end of the match while there was another change of Ice Men, Ace got the ascendancy and introduced Ice Man Miller to Ice Man Morris with a meeting of the Minds on the ring apron.  Threw one of them off down onto the floor, hit a chokeslam and got the 1,2,3.

Southern Pitbull & Kinkaid "Pure Anarchy" V Larger than Life "Big Mike and Zak"

Katie Kollison accompanied Pure Anarchy and Barbie made another appearance.
This was a nice match with Zak taking a lot of punishment during the match.
Kinkaid started it off with using his hardest head in all Australian wrestling onto Zak's head and followed it up with a stiff kick onto Zak's rib cage.  Zak was able to turn it around and got on the offensive and hit a DDT on Kinkaid.
Big Mike came in and hit Kinkaid with an Irish whip to standing cross body.
Pitbull to me has really stepped up recently and hit Zak with a thunderous clothesline, then suplex and running rolling swanton (Hope I got the name right).

Pitbull got Zak in the corner and thought he was a little hungry and tried taking a chunk out of Zak's head.  He followed this up with a huge powerbomb on Zak.  Not to be satisfied with that Pitbull hit Zak with a DDT as well.  Zak was out on his feet but got a second wind and eventually was able to tag in Big Mike.  Big Mike hit a spinning Leg Lariat on Pitbull and followed this up with a Mikey Dog.  Zak got rid of Kinkaid and then hit a huge swanton on Pitbull and both Mike and Zak covered Pitbull for the 1,2,3.  Great match and crowd really got into the vibe. Crowd was more into this match than the crowd last week at the Civic Centre.

Intermission

My thoughts of the first half of the show.  First match was too short for me but explained by the triple threat, but I would have liked to seen a little more action just between the 2.  2nd and 3rd matches were very good matches, very enjoyable and crowd like it too.

John E Radic V Tony Stone

John E came out with a Purple shirt, red vest and shocking tie.  To truly understand it you'll need to tune into powerslam.tv to see the footage. (Sorry shameless plug)  I wrote it in my notes "Its a sight to behold"  I could only think that John E looked like a court jester.  Just needed a hat. 
A "John E sucks" chant started up and John E wasn't having any of it.  The crowd just giving him heaps.  John E went up to Wolfdogg and said that If John E sucks he leaves this dump.  Crowd thought ok "John E Blows" started being chanted.
Tony Stone comes out to the all to familar music and yes those tights again.  Biggest pop of the night when Tony came out, but when they saw those tights with your name written on the right a$$ cheek they were a little stunned.
Tony Stone got in the ring and his G needed a little adjustment, kindly adjusted by Lola.
The match started off with almost a collar and elbow tie up but John E ducked through, and then claimed Tony was pulling his hair.  He did it twice, quite amusing.  When they finally locked it up Tony got John E in a Firemen's Carry (Or modified FU - LOL) and once again John E claimed it was the hair or the tights or both.
Tony had enough and went back to 1985 with an airplane spin.  Both men felt worse for wear and John E fell over and Tony couldn't right him self and John E got hit a little south or the border.
Tony picked up John E and perched him on the top rope, one leg either side and John E went for a little pony ride... but I don't think he enjoyed it.
Things spilt to the outside and John E got a few moves in.  I had a little trouble seeing the move, but I can just explain it as a handspring back elbow "Croation style" on to Tony on the floor.  John E lent over the guard rail and picked up a chair, went for the wind up and Lola grabbed hold of the chair preventing John E hitting Tony with it.  As Lola took the chair over to the other side of the ring "The ref is hot" chant came out a few times.
The two men got back in the ring and John E was telling Lola about something going on in the crowd, but the distraction worked for a little while because he got his tie and started choking out Tony, while it was hidden by a side headlock.  Lola didn't fall for it, and John E broke to hold within the standing 5 count.
John E hits his famous elbow drop off the 2nd rope only, but Tony wasn't down for too long and got up started hitting John E's head against the turnbuckles.  Up all about 35 shots to the turnbuckles and John E didn't know where he was.  Tony went old school climbing the rope and then walking along the ropes and delivering huge clubbing blow from way high. John E had enough and rolled out, but Tony chased him around the ring and John E got to the ring post and swung around under the bottom rope and got Tony.  I think John E even took off someone's shoe and hit Tony with it.  John E had had enough and got a stool from the stage.  JOhn E wound up again (this time in the ring) but Tony screamed out and John well got quite scared of an angry Tony Stone.  John E dropped the stool and ran out from the ring with Tony in close pursuit.  1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10.  Lola counted to 10 and its a double count out.  A little disappointing end to a thoroughly entertaining match.

Furious Freddy Fuzion V Just Josh V Drgaonspawn

I started watching this match and forgot to note it some of it.
However what I did note was Just Josh and Dragonspawn worked together in the beginning hitting Fuzion with a great double team clothesline.  Just Josh hit Fuzion with a spinning elbow and Dragonspawn hit him with a Leg Lariat.  Dragonspawn then hits Fuzion with a sidewalk slam and goes for the pin.  Just Josh stops it and then gets clotheslined for his troubles.  Fuzion started getting back and hit a great delayed suplex on Just Josh.  Dragonspawn hit Fuzion with a "punch in the guts" as commentated by Luke.
Just Josh hit Dragonspawn with a facebuster and Fuzion hit one of the best spinebusters you would every want to see.  Double A Arn Anderson would have applauded that. It was that strong and executed to perfection.
Dragonspawn went on a chopping spree on Fuzion hitting him twice and before he slapped Fuzion on the chest he "shooshed" the crowd and it went dead quiet in the hall twice.  The slaps were good slaps, but since Dragonspawn wears those gloves, it doesn't give as great as impact as it might have had.
Dragonspawn and Fuzion were on the outside and by this time Josh is back in the game and hits a top rope or off the apron I'm not sure dive into Fuzion and Dragonspawn.  Just Josh follows it up back in the ring with a flying cross body on Fuzion.
Fuzion counters and hits Just Josh with a full nelson slam.  Fuzion was getting his power and hits a double chokeslam on Dragonspawn and Just Josh.  Dragonspawn hits a DDT on Just Josh and follows it up with a sidewalk slam.  Dragonspawn climbs the rope and Just Josh goes up to meet him and was going to do a Superplex, but Fuzion gets underneath Just Josh.  So we have Fuzion giving Just Josh a powerbomb and Just Josh giving a German release suplex onto top of Fuzion.  Just Josh springboards off the top rope onto Fuzion.  Dragonspawn gets rid of Just Josh, and then Fuzion gets Dragonspawn into a roll up with a hand full of tights for the 1/2/3.  Ref of course didn't see the handful of tights.  Fuzion retains the Snakepit title.

Short 5 min intermission.

These last two matches had everything, entertainment as well as high impact moves.
For entertainment Match 4, but for skill and athletisism Match 5, got my Match of the night.

Onto the all in battle royal

Calling or writing the action in these things is impossible, but I just kept to who got eliminated in order etc.
Zak was eliminated first when he missed a back elbow and fell over the top rope
Fuzion eliminated Big Mike
John E Radic eliminated Ice Man
Fuzion eliminated Just Josh
Kinkaid eliminated by Ace Wilson
Pitbull eliminated by Ace Wilson
Ace Wilson was eliminated around here, but unsure how.
At this point Mr John E Radic sneakily looks around and sneaks under the bottom rope and hides under the ring.  (After last weeks episode, I kept a close eye on him)

Pitbull by Tony Stone
Dragonspawn then hits his finisher, top rope superkick onto Fuzion, but Fuzion then eliminated him after that.
Tony Stone then goes to town on Fuzion hitting him with a spinebuster and Tony's finisher the spear.
Tony eliminates Fuzion, and Tony thinks he won it.  John E comes out from beneath the ring and goes to throw out Tony with his back turned.  John E went to jump on Tony's back, but jumped a little too hard and missed grabbing a good hold on Tony and eliminated himself, and making Tony Stone the winner.

The crowd that attended I think really enjoyed the show.  I haven't been to show in quite a while with such a small crowd.  The noise from the small crowd certainly made up for it and were right into it and made it feel like there was double that number.
 
SA wrestling is alive and well even on the Yorke Peninsula.
